With Vinitaly’s glasses polished and stored, the world of wine is back in the news, this time in Piedmont, with Nebbiolo Noblesse, on Monday, June 18 in Turin and Monday, June 25 in Alba.

Both dates star Piedmont’s elegant, sparkling Nebbiolo wines in the second edition of the fair, the biggest devoted to Spumanti Metodo Classico 100% Nebbiolo.

Nebbiolo Noblesse was begun in 2018 by winemakers from Piedmont and the Valle d’Aosta, enthusiasts of this quality sparkling rosé whose notes are both delicate, as well as chic. A refined and harmonious wine with a subtle, yet distinct bouquet that maintains its allegiance to these terroirs historically dedicated to winemaking.

What ‘s happening at the event? Awaiting wine lovers are tastings and aperitifs with the star of the show, the exceptional, pure-vinified Nebbiolo.

Vinification of Josetta Saffirio’s Nebbiolo d’Alba Spumante Rosè Metodo Classico begins with grapes handpicked in the first 10 days of September which then macerate for about six hours after pressing. Soft pressing separates skins from the must and is followed by decanting into temperature-controlled tanks at 18°C. Fermentation is complete in about 20 days. The wine is bottled on its lees the following spring to acquire its natural effervescence via this second fermentation.

The wine remains on its lees with the bottles riddled for 36 months before disgorgement in July.

The wine’s attractive nose accurately predicts its smooth and zesty palate; acidity and contour are well-balanced, providing a graceful and aromatic glass of wine.

Nebbiolo D’alba Spumante Rosé Metodo Classico is perfect alone, for two, or among friends, as an aperitif, to accompany dinner or, on its own to meditate. In short, it’s always the right moment to drink a rosé spumante.
